4. What are risks involved? Infection, loss of sensation, accumulation of blood requiring drainage, contraction of scar capsule surrounding implant, deflation or leakage of implant and complications related to anaesthesia in some rare cases. Implants may make it more difficult to read mammograms
5. How long the results last? Long-lasting, though gravity and age may eventually alter breast shape and size.
6. What else I need to know? Silicon use in implants were ones considered to be unsafe. Recent studies have demonstrated the safety of silicone gel implants. USFDA has also approved their use since November 2006. Cohesive Gel Implants are more natural to feel and less prone to leakage than saline filled implants.
